Jennifer Gazzard, International Development Manager - Faculty of Engineering, University of Strathclyde.
Jennifer Gazzard is an International Development Manager in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. Jenny joined the Faculty of Engineering in 2019, and she has worked at Strathclyde for more than six years in a variety of different posts. Her role covers the development and management of international initiatives across the Faculty, including teaching partnerships with universities and other HEIs, student recruitment, scholarships, engagement with government/industry sponsor bodies and transnational education. The Wider Europe region contains several of Jenny’s favourite countries to visit in the world; in particular, she has worked and travelled extensively in Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Russian Language from the University of Glasgow.
Julia Pitchford, International Recruitment Manager for Europe, The University of Sheffield.
Julia has 15 years experience working with both UK and International Students across all levels, in various UK Higher Education Institutions. She has spent 10 years in International Recruitment, with 5 as Regional Manager for Sheffield. Responsible for planning and delivering student recruitment activities for, carrying out overseas promotions, supporting recruitment agents, developing productive relations with schools and partner organisations, and providing quality market intelligence. Julia also identifies new business opportunities, and where these are in collaboration with other institutions, working with the Partnerships and Global Opportunities team, and contributing to cross-team projects to meet university strategy objectives. Prior to this, Julia taught English in Japan, helping students achieve IELTS & TOEFL to study in the UK. Having studied abroad herself, Julia understands how important it is to provide accurate and timely advice and support to prospective students, in order to help them make the right choices about their future study and careers.
